 | | title: | Child of the Universe |
| gen. notes: | This is an image of a friend posing in a stance with arms outstretched while standing on a ridge several feet above me. The tree was superimposed from a shot with the sun shining through an upper limb. |
| photo edit notes: | The image of my friend was from a scanned black and white negative which I gave a slight Pantome Duotone to before reverting to RGB. The tree was from a color slide which was put on a layer above, since the sky background on the first image was almost completely saturated white, I was able to use threshold blending options to cut out the tree where not wanted with a little additional use of a paintbrush eraser. I added a circle with a transparent rainbow gradient on another layer. |

| comments: | The title is taken from the poem Desiderata:
"You are a child of the Universe
no less than the trees and the stars
You have a right to be here"
I think the pose is also suggestive of Leonardo Da Vinci's Vitruvian Man. | |
